Write an introduction to an informative and factual blog post titled "Acquiring Your Mental Health". PSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDERS ARE NOT A DISGRACE. YOU'RE NOT ALONE. YOU CAN BEAT THEM. Depression is much more than just feeling sad all the time (though, you might feel like that for a while) — it can also manifest as anger, paranoia, hallucinations, or unexpected outbursts of laughter. It's often difficult for people facing these symptoms to see their problems as anything other than unfortunate, but there are plenty of treatments available, since depression is actually a medical condition. Unfortunately, despite advances in science, most of them are still chemical in nature, or have to come from pharmaceuticals. If you're feeling overwhelmed with the disorder yourself, you may find it helpful to reach out to others who have gone through similar experiences. For example, the National Institute of Mental Health lists three specific types of depression that each have different symptoms and treatment options: ● Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is characterized by severe mood swings lasting at least two weeks. ● Persistent Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia) is a milder form, lasting at least two years. ● Bipolar Disorder (BPD) is a mood disorder characterized by distinct depressive and manic episodes. There's plenty of helpful information out there about these disorders, including from other people who have struggled with them. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and should never be left untreated Publish your informative and factual blog post to a blog platform you create yourself. In the post include a short bio that leads readers to another informational resource on depression and its related illnesses. Publish the blog post publicly online for at least seven days. Create a desktop publishing project titled "Living with Depression". The aim of the project is to encourage people who are suffering from this illness to seek out help. Demonstrate your knowledge of the root cause of depression, and provide five tips for living with the illness. Tips for Living with Depression 1. Set small goals when tackling depression, and celebrate when you meet each one. 2. Don't be afraid to reach out if you find yourself in a situation that triggers feelings of intense sadness or despair—leave your house, hang out with friends or family, call someone who will make you feel better. 3. Plan ahead to avoid situations where you are at risk of feeling down. 4. Strive for healthy relationships with encouraging friends and family members; seek out new ones. 5. Cut back on activities that can make you feel worse, like drinking or smoking—or make others feel worse about themselves, like skipping school or taking drugs (not that there's anything wrong with those things). 6. When you're sad, don't think of yourself as worthless; instead focus on building your confidence by exercising regularly, reading inspiring books, doing fun projects around the house, or making new friends (or meeting your old ones again). cfa1e77820
