It is the second installment of the Matrix trilogy, and concludes with a cliffhanger for the third film due to be released in 2005. In this chapter, Neo becomes aware that he is not just a man but also The One, a being of supreme power. But despite his new powers he still needs help to fight off Smith who has taken over Zion and begins killing people there at an alarming rate. Neo must find out why people are disappearing from the matrix without being destroyed by smith and what they have done to Zion. In the end, Neo sacrifices himself to save the humans from the machines and returns to where his story began. The machines send one last message to him as he returns, telling him that Zion is destroyed and that they have no need for it anymore, but then goes into a long speech about how humans can't be destroyed because they are "undeniable". The scene ends with a quote from "The Anatomy of Melancholy", book one: "...the body of man is subject to all kinds of diseases and to so many kinds of evils: and yet notwithstanding...he still endeavours to persist in his own way. And I think...for the same reason we may, we will conclude that there is some evil genius...that persecutes men and makes them suffer." Neo, Trinity, Morpheus and the Hammer crew are now prisoners of the machines. Neo is told by The Oracle that his next task is to find The Keymaker who will give him access to Zion so he can save it from Smith's army. During this time Neo is seen looking at himself in a mirror repeating "I know kung fu" over and over again. Smith goes on a killing spree, taking over more humans in the matrix, while using others as an example for Neo that he cannot die. Neo's answer to this is to tell Smith that he has learned kung fu, but that he doesn't want to fight him. Trinity is sent to find the Keymaker while Neo is sent after Smith. As Neo walks through an empty street, he comes across a human being who has been killed by being crushed under Smith's foot. Neo takes the man's body and places it in a chair so he can sit on the body while sitting in his tank so it looks like he has died due to his lack of time in Smith's presence before being found by Trinity - thus getting himself another chance at defeating Smith. In the meantime, Smith is shown looking at the Keymaker's notes and pointing out inconsistencies in them. Smith then gets a call from someone on a speaker who shows him a picture of Neo and Morpheus. Trinity, who has reached the Keymaker, finds out about Neo being sent after Smith and tells Agent Smith of the deception. Neo, using his kung fu skills learnt from training with Morpheus, manages to defeat many agents of the machines while also convincing a man called Bane to help him destroy a group of robots that had been sent after him. cfa1e77820
